CERAMIC

When we hear the term “ceramic,” we usually think of the floor, wall, and surface construction materials commonly used in our kitchens and bathrooms. However, in the glassware and cooking appliances industries, the term refers to a different material.

Here, ceramic refers to a composite (multi-component) type of coating. This “ceramic” coating comprises two interlocking parts: the first part is the silicone component, which we’ll discuss further below, and the second part is the mineral component. The silicone component may consist of silicone polymer or polymers, while the mineral component can include various minerals such as quartz, titanium, silica, and mica.

There are various color options available for ceramic coatings. You can visit our color chart and color simulation sections for more information.

CERAMIC APPLICATION

Ceramic application is only possible in the form of spray ceramic application.

A mixture consisting of two or three parts is prepared. Depending on the product, this mixture is stirred horizontally or vertically for 4 to 16 hours and is then ready for spray application as an irreversible sol-gel (similar to a thermoset).
